New upload server is online
We’ve just rolled out a new upload server, which should speed up your uploads and improve reliability. You don’t have to make any changes — just upload as normal — but you should notice some big improvements now that our uploads are distributed across more machines. Hit us up in the comments if you run into any problems along the way. Enjoy!

i’ll try again. ^_^
June 18th, 2007 at 1:56 am
Yeah I have noticed the speed, great work guys, hope this is working out for ya.

i uploaded nearly 200 mb today and the upload really zipped along! thanks for the speed improvements.
i would like to see an upload speed meter in the upload status window. this would be much more convenient than using bandwidth monitoring software.

I’m very disappoinetd with this new upload server. It’s slower than before - and upload can be hung, or restart - loosing all previous part of upload

Hi dear Divshare people…
I may thank you very much for your wonderful service. Just one question… it’s possible to let us create folders inside folders? For example, I have uploded many music files, but instead of having the following folders: Instrumental 1, Instrumental 2, etc… I find more useful to have One folder called instrumental, and inside it, some folders, each one for each kind of instrumental music.
Just a question that I think will improve the great service you offer to us.
Thank you and continue being better!

I am having problems with video playback. There is a looooong pause before they start and than frequent pauses while it is playing. I love the video quality I can maintain here but if it will not play properly I cannot use the service.
Is there something I can do that will improve the play quality?
Videos in question at this point are:

Hi Francis.Looks like you need to install missing plugins, like Adobe Flash Player. Then it should work alright…
Hope this helps.
All the best for you and the DivShare team.
June 20th, 2007 at 6:58 am
Nope, i have all the plugins, i thought of that first and made sure they were installed
I can see the flash objects fine on my other blog in fore fox, just bot the DivShare objects.
Are you able to see them in fire fox?

For some reason…our four audio uploads will no longer play from the embedded MP3 players. The old version is on the website but when looking at the DivShare page with the new version of the player - that won’t play either. Do we need to redo everything from scratch since the big change over of DivShare these past few weeks?
June 20th, 2007 at 9:03 am
Hey Francis, the issue with Firefox is that your blogging software makes automatic changes to the embed code, including stripping out the “embed” tag and leaving only the “object” tag. IE interprets the object tag, but FF looks for the embed tag, so that’s why you’re seeing different results in each browser. I’d check out your blog software’s documentation to see how to prevent these automatic changes from here on out.
June 20th, 2007 at 9:04 am
Time Machine: You shouldn’t have to make any changes to old embeds as a result of the introduction of the new players, but feel free to post a link to your example here, or e-mail us at support@divshare.com, if you are still having problems.

I transferred a file via FTP but can’t seem to find how to retrieve it into my account anymore. Did the option disappear or have I just gone blind?
June 20th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
Artemis: There should be a link on your upload pages as a Pro or Direct user, but you can also use http://www.divshare.com/upload/ftp.
June 20th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
heyy i was wondering we are having embed flash player..so why cant we have playlists with the embed player..
so we can select many files at once like shuffle..rather than come to another page every time!!
June 21st, 2007 at 5:13 am
wow!!! i hope that work….
June 23rd, 2007 at 1:23 pm

whats happend to Groups?
June 28th, 2007 at 10:40 am
I am very disappointed with the changes you’ve made so far. Not only is the new flash player more complicated in its use, but also it is incredibly SLOW!
I work at a computer lab, in which the internet connection is quite excellent, but since you’ve changed this, the files of my podcast never load properly. That is totally absurd. I don’t know if the other users are experiencing the same problem than I am, but my argument is supported in that with the other server (apollo I guess…) and with the other player the files would play awesomely fast. That is the reason why I chose divshare: Speed and features. Even though you still have the features, the new improvements are -pardon me- totally useless. That is a shame, I feel very frustrated and discontent about the service, because that is affecting the daily traffic of my blog-podcast.
My apologies if I was too rude, but I just that I feel frustrated. Thank you
