I'd like to embed a video in my external community but don't want anybody to take this video to his/her site.

Now, I have a workaround that first I uncheck the option "Don't show embed code for my flash players" in preference, embed a video in my external community and check the option.

but I think it's rather tricky. so I hope I can always get the embed code regardless of preference only when I log in divshare.

Hey Isabelle. If you don't want your files to be embedded by someone else you have to go to your account settings and change that option.

If you put a video (NOT to be downloaded) in a password-protected folder and post this video on your own site or forum just to show it, people who visit your forum just have to click on the icon meaning "click to copy the embed code to clipboard" which is on the video. Then they just have to paste this code to have YOUR video posted on ANOTHER SITE. And I tried, it works even when I'm logged out ! So... where is the protection, if anybody can take my videos an post them in another place ???

How do we view files made piblic? Is there a central meeting place for them?
What is the address that we make available to a public that we've given our profile address to (mine being http://www.divshare.com/profile/Lee_Davis)?
If so can you please notify us as to what it is? Thanx & keep up the good work

[...] As we mentioned last week, we’ve officially retired the “private file” feature in favor of the more convenient password-protected folders. If you have any files that are private, they will stay that way, and you will still have the option to make them public from the dashboard. (We’ll be removing the “make this file public” command down the road, but not for a while.) If you have any questions, hit us up at support@divshare.com [...]

sorry bout that i think i have found out what was going on, it kept logging me in even tho i had previously logged out, all i had to do was go to the files from my site and when it logged me in automatically i just logged off once and it seemed to cure the problem - sorry if i was a bit terse in my earlier post, you may want to check this out as a bit of a glitch. keep up the good work guys

Hey <strong>Borisbolo</strong>, if you are logged in, you'll never be prompted for a password to view your own files, even though outside visitors will. This might be the issue, but if not, drop us a link to your site at support@divshare.com and we'll take a look at it.
