hmm, I’m not too fussed about any of these flash embeds n whatnot, i thought the main aim of this site was to offer pure uploading at its best. Well i’m not really getting that experience as i’m still experiencing superior amounts of upload errors time after time… FTP version works perfect

Love the new features :) Hope that divshare would continue being the best (and AHEM! undoubtedly cleaner) file/whatnot host out there.

I am curious about the embed possibilities for Flash here. I signed up for DS Direct so I could upload larger files (of civic meetings and the like) and was happily surprised to see I could brand the player as well.

However, so far it does not seem to work well for me. This is not necessarily DivShare’s fault as I might be doing something wrong (wouldn’t be the first time). I added the images I wanted to use, but when a player appears on my site the image only appears if you mouse over it (as you can see at: http://overlandexaminer.org/2007/06/fishing-derby-huge-success.html ). Is there something I need to change for this to work better for me?

    Hey OverlandSailor,

The reason the gray box shows up is that our Flash player automatically “grays out” your logo when there’s no mouseover (you can see this effect with the examples on the blog too). To make it look good, you need to make the white part of your logo transparent and save your file as a PNG 24 with transparency (an option in Photoshop). If you have any trouble, just drop us an e-mail at support@divshare.com.
