Some more great reviews

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

We’ve been getting some awesome write ups this week. Here’s what people are saying:

Lifehacker: Unlimited online file storage

divShare definitely comes in handy when you need to move or share large files.

Gizmodo: Park Unlimited Files for Free

You can upload unlimited files of any type, the files will stay there forever, and the company will serve unlimited downloads, too. There are no ads, no pop-ups, no spam, and it lets you create your own galleries if you’re uploading pictures.

Independent Tech: Unlimited File Storage, No Expirations, for free?

What am I missing and what is the catch? divShare offers free accounts, picture galleries, no expirations, full-size pictures … all for free. I signed up for an account, ran all over the site … and can’t find an ad anywhere either.

Web Worker Daily: Store and Send Files With DivShare

But I have to tell you, I was somewhat blown away with the extreme ease of use, and benefits that this application could have for not only the web worker, but for the average person looking for a simple place to store and share not only photos, but files as well.

If you find a story about us, we’d love to see it. If you want to write a story about us, drop us a line with any questions.

We’re striving to become the number one file hosting site on the Internet in 2007. We thank you for your continued support and wish everyone a Happy (and safe) New Year!

Six days ago, we graced the blog with some stats about our first day online, and now it’s time for the one-week update. A quick upgrade and a great review

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Hey DivShare fans, we’ve added a quick tweak that should make your gallery browsing experience a lot more enjoyable — “next” and “previous” buttons. Check them out on this wildly popular gallery of Paris Hilton’s personal postcards.

We’re also really excited about the new review of DivShare on Download Squad. Here’s a bit of what they had to say:

I have to admit, everything David says sounds great (files stay online forever?!). But how does it actually perform? Well, the aforementioned song downloaded at an average rate of 550KBps, which isn’t bad at all. I uploaded a 10MB video, and though there’s no fancy Flash-Ajax upload timer, it took less than 2 minutes to complete. On an upstream-weak cable connection, that’s pretty darn good. Since DivShare launched this month, only time will tell if the service remains as excellent as it is right now. Happy uploading!

Nice! Have a Merry Christmas, and stay tuned for some more stats about our first week online.

Sharing full-size images, and the end of expiration dates!

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Great news — today we introduce our first two major upgrades to DivShare. Here goes…

1. No more expiration dates!
We hate rules, so we decided to scratch the one major limit on your uploads. Say goodbye to the 30-days-without-a-download limit — your files will now truly stay online forever. No minimums, no maximums.

2. Post full-size images on your site!
We’re still offering our thumbnail links, and now you can also grab the HTML that will display your image in full size. Just check the Sharing Options on any JPG, GIF or PNG file, add the code to your site or profile, and you’re in business.

And, of course, this is just the beginning. We always want to hear your ideas for improving your DivShare experience, so post them in the comments or e-mail us at support@divshare.com.

Blogs, Tags and Diggs

DivShare on del.icio.usNews of our launch has been making its way around the Web 2.0 world for almost two days now, and it looks like we’re making quite an impression. It all started with a post on Mashable at 5 a.m. EST — about two hours after we went live — and today we’re gracing the front page of del.icio.us, as high as the No. 2 spot. Here’s a round-up of what the bloggers have to say, as well as a few ways you can help us spread the word.

Digg It: DivShare: A New Place to Store Your Files
‘It has become even easier to store your files online.’

Tag it on del.icio.us: DivShare - Upload Anything
‘Incredibly easy file sharing’ … ‘divshare > zshare > yousendit’
